Pear and cacao semolina porridge

This is a super quick, warming and filling porridge, can be eaten at any time of day and the flavourings are endless.

 

Porridge

  • 600ml milk (or a dairy free alternative - we like almond or hazelnut)
  • 85g semolina
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup
  • 1 pear, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon of butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

Topping:

  • Demerara or coconut sugar
  • Cacao powder
  • Another small knob of butter or coconut oil
  • Scattering of pecans
  • Pear crisps (optional)

Method

Pour the milk into a pan with the butter/coconut oil, honey, pear and salt
Bring to a simmer and add the semolina
Stir immediately to break up any lumps
Simmer and keep stirring for 2 more minutes and your porridge is ready!
Add the topping and enjoy
