Pear and cacao semolina porridge
This is a super quick, warming and filling porridge, can be eaten at any time of day and the flavourings are endless.
Porridge
- 600ml milk (or a dairy free alternative - we like almond or hazelnut)
- 85g semolina
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup
- 1 pear, cubed
- 1 teaspoon of butter or coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Topping:
- Demerara or coconut sugar
- Cacao powder
- Another small knob of butter or coconut oil
- Scattering of pecans
- Pear crisps (optional)
Method
Pour the milk into a pan with the butter/coconut oil, honey, pear and salt
Bring to a simmer and add the semolina
Stir immediately to break up any lumps
Simmer and keep stirring for 2 more minutes and your porridge is ready!
Add the topping and enjoy
