Cherry and Bourbon BBQ sauce Easy
Home made BBQ sauce can bring so much flavour to home made burgers, pulled pork, prawns or ribs!

Cooking – 30 mins
Serves – 4-6
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons of cooking oil
- 1 small white onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
- 2 large ripe red tomatoes, chopped
- 300g ripe cherries, pitted
- 100ml red wine vinegar
- 200ml bourbon
- 1 whole chilli, chopped
- 2 tablespoon1 honey
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- Large pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Method
Add the onion to the pan with the salt and fry until starting to turn golden
Add the garlic, ginger, spices and herbs
Cook for another minute
Add the rest of the ingredients
Simmer for 40-60 minutes on low heat
Remove the bay leaf, blend and keep in the fridge
